If your elbow is hurting on your support arm when you do single arm dumbell row, it could be that your support arms is not stacked under itself. This may not be a big deal if both of your feet are grounded and you’re taking a more upright position (as with a lean over the rack dumbbell row) but in the case with this common variation (bent over a bench), a stacked arm position will ensure that you’re not putting unnecessary pressure on the elbow of your support arm.
