One of the biggest reasons lifters have a sore lower back (or worse, injure their back) when it comes to the execution of the movement is not properly bracing for the lift and thus, not pulling the slack out of the bar. Bracing essentially involves taking a big breath into your diaphragm and engaging your core to maintain neutral spine — what can break this? Well, a jerky pull off the ground. This is where pulling the slack out of the bar comes in. Essentially you engage your lats resulting in a passive pull on the bar which creates tension so there is minimal energy leakage (from slack) when you go for the rep. #fyp #fitness #gym #fitnessadvice #tiktoktaughtme
