The reality of earwax removal. You might ask why does it take 15 minutes to clean someone’s ear out? It might not take this long at other places, but I work in a way to keep patients completely comfortable because the ear canal is an extremely sensitive part of the body. When you get closer to the eardrum the canal turns to a bony portion, which it can be very painful when working in that area. As I am removing wax I am also looking at the patient’s face to tell if they are uncomfortable so, even without them verbally communicating to me how they are feeling, I can tell by their facial expressions. If I think they are uncomfortable, I immediately switch to a different technique in order to work the wax out as safely and comfortably as possible. A lot of patients come in after putting off the ear cleaning for a while because they were worried it would be painful and I love sending people out with a smile on their face and better hearing. #earclean #earcleaning #earwax #waxremoval #wax #ear #audiology #audiologist #drearwax

Insert material into a syringe 6. Using the syringe, fill the ear canal and outer ear with impression material 7. Let the material cure in the ear until hard (approx 3 minutes) 8. Remove from canal gently 9.
