here is a quick but extremely useful tip on how to tie piping bags! Just like how you mise en place ingredients, setting your piping bags up properly will lead you to a nice and easy cooking experience. This is one of the first things I learned when I started working at my restaurant and I realized that not many other people do this, even though it makes piping so much easier and cleaner. I hope you all learn something from this video, little things like these that you can apply to upgrade even your home cooking make me really excited :) as always feel free to comment below with any questions or message me directly! #fyp #culinary #culinaryarts #cook #cooking #chef #tip #learn #learntocook #skill #basics #tutorial #pipingbag #piping #restaurant #technique #food

a lot of you asked for the recipe of this chicken dish i made for my exam so here it is! this video is showing how i made it during my exam and the exact ingredients are down below! i wanted to make this more about time management and techniques rather than the ingredients because that’s the really important stuff we are learning in school. we have a simple but delicious plate of chicken breast, potatoes, and green beans with a nice pan sauce relatively simple but a great test for us to do for the end of our first module at culinary school also i wanted to say even though i did well on this test, there is still plenty more that i could have done faster, and better. i am not a professional, i am training to one day hopefully become one and i am just sharing my progress and thought process making this dish for my exam so you can see what i am learning and how i am applying it! this is my take on a recipe video because i think the concepts are more important than the actual recipe, but tell me if this is something you like, don’t like or if you want to see me change how i did anything. i am always open to tips and thoughts from all of you that support me :D 1 chicken breast (skin on preferred) salt and pepper neutral oil of choice 2 tsp shallots (minced) 1 oz white wine 4 oz chicken stock 1 tbsp butter (cold) 1 oz parsley (finely chopped) 1/4-1/2 cup green beans (trimmed & washed) water 1 tbsp butter salt and pepper 2 russet potatoes (washed & peeled) water 4 fl oz heavy cream 1-2 tbsp butter (melted, to taste) salt and pepper #fyp #culinary #culinaryarts #culinaryschool #culinaryexperience #culinarystudent #food #cook #cooking #learn #learntocook #recipe #followalong #chef #teach #test #exam #grade #iceculinary

brunoise! this is one of the most basic techniques anyone can do, yet really shows the amount of care, technique, and skill that can go behind the simple prep for different sauces, dishes, and anything it goes into. this definitely isn’t the only way to brunoise, just a method that I learned focusing on making the most perfect and nice dices. it is really fun and great to practice your knife skills with, and although you would hardly see this outside of fine dining, I think it is an excellent skill to learn even as a home cook if you are interested in improving your precision, consistency, and knife skills! hope you all enjoy the video, trying my best to make my new apartment space work and please let me know if you like it. as always feel free to comment below or message me directly with any questions :D #fyp #culinary #culinaryarts #chef #food #cook #cooking #knife #knifeskills #learn #learntocook #basics #brunoise #technique #tutorial

KOREAN BEEF RICE BOWLS Per meal (makes 5) 500 Calories 34g Protein 53g Carbs 16g Fat This is one of my all time favorite meal prep recipes - it’s an incredibly simple process to make, but is absolutely exploding with flavor from the ultra savory beef marinade. The low calorie sriracha mayo adds a nice spice + acidity that balances out the salt/umami from the beef, and the flavor holds incredibly well when reheated as a meal prep. This is also a featured recipe in my new meal prep cookbook (with 100+ pages of meal prep recipes just like this one) 🫡 Recipe 👇 Low Calorie Sriracha Mayo: 90g light Mayo 50g Sriracha Juice from ½ a lemon (about 1 tablespoon) 1/2 tspn garlic powder 2 tblspn milk or water Salt to taste Korean beef: 24oz 96% ground beef 2 tspn sesame oil 1.5 tablespoon minced garlic
30g brown sugar 80g soy sauce
20g gochujang
3 green onions Bowl ingredients: 300g basmati rice (uncooked weight)* Sesame seeds + green onion garnish *Around 750g cooked weight. Divide total by 5 for each “bowl” or serving. I used basmati rice simply because it is what I always have in my pantry, but it’s obviously not “Korean” rice - so use a short grain white rice if you prefer 👍 #healthyrecipes #easyrecipe #quickandeasy #mealprep #highproteinrecipe #macrofriendlyrecipe #lowcalorierecipe #tastyrecipe #recipesoftiktok #homecookingrecipes #learntocook #weeknightdinner #foodtiktok #foodie #flexibledieting #highprotein #highproteinrecipes #proteinrecipes #countingcalories #trackingmacros #fitness #fitfood #fitnessfood #stealthhealth

The tips and tricks to making the PERFECT steak every time 🥩🔥 Cooking a perfect steak is definitely a tall order, but with the proper technique it is a lot easier than you think. Tips & tricks: 🔪 Start with a thick cut steak, especially if you like your steak medium rare. This will give you a buffer to ensure you don’t over cook the steak…steak cooks quicker than you think. 🔪 Season the steak generously with salt and pepper from high above — this will make sure you get an even coating of salt — and allow the steak to come to room temperature before cooking. 🔪Get your pan VERY HOT. Once the pan is hot, add a touch of neutral oil and then add the steak. You’re looking for a fast, hard sear to lock in the juices — NOT to cook it all the way though (depending on the thickness!) Start with the fat cap, then sear one side and after its golden brown, flip and immediately baste! 🔪 Add in aromatics (garlic, rosemary, thyme etc.) after flipping, along with butter as you baste. This will infuse a wonderful subtle flavor. 🔪Finish cooking the steak in the oven. I like it at 375 F, typically for around 5-7 minutes for a 2 inch steak. Once you reach an internal temp of 130 (for medium rare) pull it out and allow it REST! The allows the juices to set (instead of drain out) and brings the steak to the proper temp. . . . #steakrecipe #perfectsteak #culinaryschool #learntocook

this is a demonstration from my chef Leif Evans @iceculinary on how to butcher a flounder that I thought had so much information in it (so i had to separate into two videos) and lots of techniques and teachings outside of just how to cut up some filets! In this Chef Leif shows us how to cut off the head of a fish without wasting any meat and giving us tips on how we should handle our ingredients and a fun fact about fish. as always feel free to comment below with any questions or message me directly! also let me know what you think about the 2 part video, I’m normally not an advocate for it, but Chef Leif throws in lots of facts and info while teaching that I didn’t want to just leave out! #fyp #culinary #culinaryarts #culinaryschool #culinarystudent #chef #food #cook #cooking #learn #learntocook #fish #butcher #lesson #teach

here is the full recipe and procedure for the steak dish i made for my culinary exam this past week! it’s a pretty simple steak with pan sauce, potatoes, and carrots but super tasty and definitely a good way to practice your technique! it was a perfect way to end off our second module at culinary school and even though i got a good score, there was plenty to improve on. if you see me in the video, i was being extra careful with my potatoes, but honestly i should have been closer to the heat and just going for it because my potatoes were absorbing too much fat/oil into them instead of getting crispy. my steak and pan sauce turned out exactly how i wanted and if you havent made a pan sauce, they are so delicious (and sub the red wine for balsamic/red wine vinegar if you can’t have!). the carrots glazed in stock and butter are rich but sweet and go really well with the other flavors on the plate. looking back on these past 2 modules it feels like so long ago because i’ve learned so so much. thanks so much again to all of you who have decided to join me on this journey and to many more recipes, lessons, and learning in the future. as always if you have any questions feel free to comment below or message me :D 1 strip steak (trimmed) salt + pepper (and any other preferred seasonings) garlic + thyme + butter (optional for basting) 2 tsp minced shallot 1 fl oz red wine (sub red wine/balsamic vinegar) 4 fl oz veal/beef stock 1 tbsp whole butter (cold) 1-2 potatoes (peeled, medium dice) 1-3 cloves minced garlic (to taste) 1 oz butter finely chopped parsley (about 1 oz) 3-5 baby carrots (if you can’t get just chop regular carrots) chicken stock (just enough to cover) 1 oz butter #fyp #culinary #culinaryarts #culinaryschool #culinarystudent #culinaryexperience #chef #food #cook #cooking #learn #learntocook #recipe #exam #test #grade #followalong #teach #student #foodtok #cooktok

Here’s how I did on my first final exam of culinary school! We have been prepping and getting ready for these exams for a few lesson now, and our first of two exams is all about making a dish starting with a whole fish and a set list of ingredients. I wanted to do something fun but also complicated to challenge myself and I definitely had a lot of components and different things to focus on while I was making this dish. I also wanted to make an effort to stay as clean and organized as possible throughout the exam and I ended up making something that I am really proud of taste wise, but not so much conceptually and visually. In hindsight I should have had three pieces of the mosaic on the plate each individually garnished and with contrasting colors (my idea was to have it monochromatic, but it ended up being too much) but still I had a lot of fun winging all of the recipes and making this dish come together in just a couple of hours. I really can’t believe that there is only one more lesson to share with you all, it really is just the beginning of our culinary journeys together, and there is so so so much more I am excited to share with you. Hope you all enjoyed and as always, if you have any questions feel free to comment below or message me directly! #fyp #culinary #culinaryarts #culinarystudent #culinaryschool #chef #cook #cooking #learntocook #test #exam #final #grade #pressure #food #rate #taste #fish #pov #dayinthelife #foodtok #cooktok

my first dinner party since starting culinary school!!! it has been so long since i have done one of these and after learning so much in culinary school i wanted to try making a three course meal all by myself. the dishes are a roast carrot salad with baby arugula and mustard greens tossed in a lemon vinaigrette, a herb yogurt sauce, garnished with crispy bacon and toasted pumpkin seeds. the second course is a shrimp risotto made with chicken and shrimp stock shrimp meat, crispy oyster mushrooms, and a whole fried shrimp on top. the last dish is a ny strip steak served on top a balsamic pan sauce and garlic mashed potatoes, garnished with fried shallots and lemon zest. i had so so so much fun doing this even though it took a lot of time because it challenged me a lot and got me thinking about being efficient, ingredients to buy, and things i can improve on in the future. this was just my first dinner party for friends and family (my college friend, gf, my sister and her bf) and I am so excited to do more! tell me how you liked this video, i really wanted to get this out to you all before thanksgiving and wanted to thank you all for all the support you show me in my journey so hope you all have a great night, thanksgiving, friendsgiving, weekend, or whatever it is you are planning :D #fyp #culinary #culinaryarts #culinarystudent #chef #food #cook #cooking #dinner #meal #dinnerparty #eat #serve #prep #firsttime #learn #learntocook #recipe #fun #taste #journey #growth #thanksgiving #friends #family

day 53 of culinary school @iceculinary and we are taking a little breather and getting some practice for our exam tomorrow! we are basically doing the entire test today and since we have a little extra time we are also getting a quick look at the tandoor oven. we started by marinating our chicken thighs for later and then worked at our own pace for the steak. i wasn’t rushing but i felt like i wasn’t extremely focused and my steak reflected that. i knew what i had done wrong but double checked with my chef that way i could build a game plan for tomorrow and really focus in. after that was finished though i had plenty of time and had fun making huge skewers of chicken. i didn’t even know we had a tandoor oven in the building until i followed my chef to a different kitchen where it was! it was fun learning how to use a new piece of equipment today but i still wish i wasn’t so zoned out when making my steak dish. regardless, tomorrow is a new day and i’m gonna prepare and do my very best for the end of module 2! as always if you have any questions at all, feel free to comment below and i hope you all have amazing mondays :D #fyp #culinary #culinaryarts #culinaryschool #culinarystudent #culinaryexperience #chef #food #cook #cooking #learn #learntocook #teach #student #lesson #review #testprep #steak #chicken #foodtok #cookingtok

Final written exam! But not really hahaha. This was the last day before our practical exams where we took our written exam for a bit of the class and then were given the rest of the time to practice making vegetables and sauces for our final. A lot of people in class were hungry and didn’t really feel like making a mess of pots and pans because we didn’t have too much time, so me and a friend just decided to make some food for everyone. Making pasta is always simple and delicious and also helps me practice a bit for my final exam anyways so I had some fun just throwing together a tasty dish for people to enjoy :D Random day but still an important one for getting prepped and ready for our finals, hope you all enjoyed, and if you have any questions feel free to comment below or message me directly! #fyp #culinary #culinarystudent #culinaryschool #culinaryarts #chef #cook #cooking #food #test #exam #final #pasta #learn #learntocook #tasty #dayinthelife #foodtok #cooktok

5-10-30 RAVIOLI BAKE 🤩❤️ This “recipe” is way too easy and so affordable! You’ll be able to feed a good size group or have some leftovers to munch on too! 😋 5 Ingredients needed: Italian Sausage ($2.69) Frozen Ravioli ($3.89) Marina Sauce ($1.79) Your Fav Cheese ($2.69) Total Price $10.68 🤩 Steps: 1. Preheat oven to 400. Brown sausage in sauce pan and add a full jar of marinara sauce. 2. Add a thin layer of meat sauce to your baking dish then add a layer of frozen ravioli. 3. Add cheese. You can use mozzarella, cheddar, ricotta or skip if you used cheese ravioli. 4. Repeat layers with the remaining sauce and ravioli. 5. Bake for 15-20 mins. You are just heating the rav through so it won’t take too long. #51030 #51030meals #cheapeats #cheapmeals #dinnerideas #easyrecipes #simplerecipes #30minutemeals #easydinner #dinner #food #familymeals #ravioli #pasta #busymom #bakedravioli #lasagna #reallife #beginnerrecipes #learntocook #girldinner

a lot of you asked for the recipe of this chicken dish i made for my exam so here it is! this video is showing how i made it during my exam and the exact ingredients are down below! i wanted to make this more about time management and techniques rather than the ingredients because that’s the really important stuff we are learning in school. we have a simple but delicious plate of chicken breast, potatoes, and green beans with a nice pan sauce relatively simple but a great test for us to do for the end of our first module at culinary school also i wanted to say even though i did well on this test, there is still plenty more that i could have done faster, and better. i am not a professional, i am training to one day hopefully become one and i am just sharing my progress and thought process making this dish for my exam so you can see what i am learning and how i am applying it! this is my take on a recipe video because i think the concepts are more important than the actual recipe, but tell me if this is something you like, don’t like or if you want to see me change how i did anything. i am always open to tips and thoughts from all of you that support me :D 1 chicken breast (skin on preferred) salt and pepper neutral oil of choice 2 tsp shallots (minced) 1 oz white wine 4 oz chicken stock 1 tbsp butter (cold) 1 oz parsley (finely chopped) 1/4-1/2 cup green beans (trimmed & washed) water 1 tbsp butter salt and pepper 2 russet potatoes (washed & peeled) water 4 fl oz heavy cream 1-2 tbsp butter (melted, to taste) salt and pepper #fyp #culinary #culinaryarts #culinaryschool #culinaryexperience #culinarystudent #food #cook #cooking #learn #learntocook #recipe #followalong #chef #teach #test #exam #grade #iceculinary

brunoise! this is one of the most basic techniques anyone can do, yet really shows the amount of care, technique, and skill that can go behind the simple prep for different sauces, dishes, and anything it goes into. this definitely isn’t the only way to brunoise, just a method that I learned focusing on making the most perfect and nice dices. it is really fun and great to practice your knife skills with, and although you would hardly see this outside of fine dining, I think it is an excellent skill to learn even as a home cook if you are interested in improving your precision, consistency, and knife skills! hope you all enjoy the video, trying my best to make my new apartment space work and please let me know if you like it. as always feel free to comment below or message me directly with any questions :D #fyp #culinary #culinaryarts #chef #food #cook #cooking #knife #knifeskills #learn #learntocook #basics #brunoise #technique #tutorial
