Running as a basic movement is not the same thing as racing for competition or sport. There’s nothing healthy or natural about pushing for dozens of miles with a pace in mind. That doesn’t mean it can’t be done, of course! But when you see people wearing 2” thick shoes and jogging for hours at a time, know that their goals are different. Like James Pieratt (@James Pieratt) who’s taking a 500 mile journey to push himself as far as possible. He’ll start on July 12th and grind out the miles as fast as he can. Make sure to follow him to see how he does! Just don’t forget that this is a specific goal that has costs and sacrifices. If you’re just starting out, the best thing you can do is build a strong foundation and work on your form without fancy shoes. Strong feet, healthy tissue, and solid form will help you avoid the common injuries and problems that almost all runners have. Be smart, know your game, and work hard! - Oh, and if you want help restoring your feet and running better, DM the word “FEET” to @thebarefootsprinter ! - - - - - #feet #foot #running #footpain #run #athlete #runner #barefoot #agingwell #functionalfeet #shoe #functionalfootwear #plantarfasciitis #toes #bunions #foothealth #ultramarathon #ultrarunning #ultraendurance #ultra #longdistance #marathon #runningform
