Here’s what makes it NOT hard to do healthy things: When we experience mental friction (low willpower to do the right thing), that’s a sign. A sign that deep down we’re experiencing something that needs our attention: inner conflict. Think of it like one part of us wants to do the right thing, another part of us feels gaslit, unseen, or frustrated…like what’s important to them isn’t being talked about. Example: - Overeating: a part of us wants to cut back on junk food, another part wants to feel relaxed, full, and calm. - Anger: a part of us wants to be calm, relaxed, and kind, another part feels unappreciated or disrespected… they want to feel seen, validated, and listened to (and will get angry if “they” are not). Instead of beating yourself up for coming up short, ask yourself this important question: what if this is ACTUALLY inner-conflict?
