I started my photography business over a decade ago & I seriously just threw myself into it⌠I had no formal education of what it took to actually run a business. I literally was just winging it. When I tell you I fell flat on my face more times that Iâd like to admit, I mean that. I fell into this trap for years and years⌠constantly comparing myself to these people who I didnât even know or maybe I did but thought âI just have to be like them and then Iâll be good enough.â But even if I was âjust like themâŚâ it wasnât what I thought. I still struggled with being unhappy with where I was in my career. I was constantly chasing and doing what others were doing, so much in fact that I under valued my work and was crashing. I burnt myself out and I almost quit⌠more times than once. I decided to stop the comparison game and start working for MYSELF. I dove into what made me unique, my work unique, and what type of system worked for ME! The worst thing i ever did, was compare myself⌠it held me back for years and Iâll never let that happen again. If youâre a photographer, this is your reminder: â¤ď¸ you can charge whatever you want. â¤ď¸ you donât have to follow all the trends â¤ď¸ your work is unique and a representation of you and your talent â¤ď¸ itâs okay if youâre not where you want to be yet. Drop the comparison narrative & keep your eyes on your goals. Youâre also not in this alone! â¤ď¸ #photography #photographerlife
