I started my photography business over a decade ago & I seriously just threw myself into it… I had no formal education of what it took to actually run a business. I literally was just winging it. When I tell you I fell flat on my face more times that I’d like to admit, I mean that. I fell into this trap for years and years… constantly comparing myself to these people who I didn’t even know or maybe I did but thought “I just have to be like them and then I’ll be good enough.” But even if I was “just like them…” it wasn’t what I thought. I still struggled with being unhappy with where I was in my career. I was constantly chasing and doing what others were doing, so much in fact that I under valued my work and was crashing. I burnt myself out and I almost quit… more times than once. I decided to stop the comparison game and start working for MYSELF. I dove into what made me unique, my work unique, and what type of system worked for ME! The worst thing i ever did, was compare myself… it held me back for years and I’ll never let that happen again. If you’re a photographer, this is your reminder: ❤️ you can charge whatever you want. ❤️ you don’t have to follow all the trends ❤️ your work is unique and a representation of you and your talent ❤️ it’s okay if you’re not where you want to be yet. Drop the comparison narrative & keep your eyes on your goals. You’re also not in this alone! ❤️ #photography #photographerlife
