No need to get newborns sleeping in dark, quiet spaces…YET! It helps them start to orient day and night if they are taking naps when it is still bright and noisy. Helping your newborn differentiate between day and night is really important to getting those longer stretches of sleep at night. We want baby to learn that during the day (when it’s bright and more noisy) is when we take shorter 1-2 hour naps. Overnight (when its dark and quiet) we sleep for longer stretches. 😴 Many babies make the transition to having naps in a darker sleep space between 6-10 weeks. 🙌 Grab my FREE newborn guide which has so many more newborn sleep tips!
