The transition from one to two littles is a big and exciting one! 🤩 The phrase “sleep when the baby sleeps” is going to look a little different now that you are officially on double-speed. You CAN handle this! You know SO much more than you did the first time around. It’ll be more exhausting physically and mentally (hello, mom-guilt 🫠), but you don’t have nearly as much of that new mom anxiety. Here are some of my top tips: ✨ Teach your toddler about overstimulation: They can learn to recognize the signs, and know when it’s time to give baby sister/baby brother some space! ✨ Help them be BIG: Let your toddler help when they can (think bringing you diapers, being on paci-duty, picking out outfits, etc.). This role can help them feel like they have still an important place. ✨ Use baby wraps/carriers: This is a GREAT way to get in a contact nap with your newborn while also having quality time with your toddler. ✨ Ask for help! Getting some help playing with/watching your toddler can help you have one-on-one time with your new baby AND maybe even get to sleep when the baby sleeps. 😉 You’ve got this!! ❤️ Remember that you’re giving both of your kids a built-in best friend – it’s the most amazing gift. Share this with a mama who’s expecting another baby! 💕 #lmft #mommentalhealth #motherhood #babysleepconsultant #sleeplearning #sleeptraining #thepeacefulsleeper
