I wholeheartedly believe in the power of décor and how it can completely transform a room. As you all know, I love to style and restyle my home. Case in point, these open shelves or “cubbies” as I like to call them in my Amagansett home. I decided to clear them out and rework the vignette both as a design exercise and an excuse to play with some new terracotta ceramic pieces I picked up. You’ll see how I shift pieces around, switching and swapping, then stepping back to assess the arrangement, before returning to make further adjustments and tweaks. I love to work intuitively like this, allowing the final styling to present itself to me. With an open floorplan and 15-foot ceilings, our EyeSwoon office certainly isn't short on square footage, but that scale and volume can easily feel cold and empty. In order to cultivate creativity here, I needed to create a sense of intimacy and make space for connection. Instead of hiring a contractor to build a wall, I brought in The Shade Store team to erect a floor-to-ceiling drapery wall to stylishly separate the unkempt storage space from the rest of the office (I chose Lowell Tweed by my dear friend, Nate Berkus).
