Everyone is different when it comes to digesting fructose. I write about this in my book “The Way In: 5 Winning Strategies To Lose Weight, Get Strong and Lift Your Life.” The short of it is that any fructose you do not have enough receptors to take to your liver to be turned to glycogen well, then continue down into your intestinal tract, where it will feed bacteria there. This is what causes gas, bloating, diarrhea, or other unpleasant issues. If you suffer from these symptoms, you might test switching to portions of fruit that are only a half cup to one cup per meal and seeing if that makes a difference for you. Working with people for three decades, I found that people think they have really dramatic food allergies or metabolic issues… but when they tested smaller portions of certain foods, they "miraculously" no longer had symptoms. S#Sometimeshe best answers are not found in lab results or medication. Just in simplicity to figure out what works best for you and then believing what your body says. Hope this helps! #sometimes#smoothiesforweightloss#weightlosssmoothies#foodstrategy#wholefoods#busymoms#perimenopause#menopause#fitover50#healthygroceryhauloriginal sound

Nuts and seeds are highly beneficial, but very energy dense. And not very filling. While people are on a weight loss journey, I always recommend recipes that use these ingredients, rather than just snacking on them plain. They end up getting far greater nutrition during the day with minimal extra effort - and have an easier time losing weight thanks to extra fiber, protein and portions of food that keep you satiated for 2-4 hours (grazing is the enemy for a variety of reasons). If you need help with fast, recipes, museum ingredients, or other beneficial fats, check out my AND/life app in your App Store. #healthyfats #weightlosstips #fitover50 #perimenopause #menopause #fitnesscoach #wholefoods #foodstrategy #weightlossstrategies

While fresh food you prepare yourself will generally be lower in sodium and almost always healthier, having a few frozen meals on hand might be a budget-friendly way to stay on track with your fitness goals if you're thoughtful about what you choose. #target #weightlosstips #busymoms #fitover50 #perimenopause #menopause #fitnesscoach #wholefoods #healthygroceryhaul #healthytargethaul #targethaul #targetfinds

Working on your health and wellbeing while tightening your budget? Use frozen organic fruits and vegetables in recipes instead of fresh. Often the preparation process makes the difference minor and totally worth the savings. #weightlosstips #busymoms #fitover50 #perimenopause #menopause #fitnesscoach #wholefoods #healthygroceryhaul #healthyrecipes #organicvsnonorganic #organicfood #organic
