Whether your goal is fat loss or muscle gain. You are NOT there to ‘burn off’ the food you ate. Train to make you feel good not as a punishment. Food is fuel ⛽️ If you over ate one day do not punish yourself by excessively over training to try and counteract the fact you ate a little more than usual (it doesn’t really work like that anyway).
