You ever think to yourself, “I must look insane!” during a run? 🤪 Me too 😅. I feel like that just means we have a very special bond with running. 🫶 For my fair weather runners, if there is a little part of you that wants to try running in less than favorable conditions, here’s how to do it. ✅ Make sure you can safely run outside. Sometimes this means changing into trail shoes for more traction, using Yaktrax in snow, a visor for rain, or stashing hand warmers all over your body like I did for this run. ✅ Adjust your workout intensity and duration. This was originally a longer workout with speed work. I adjusted it to less miles and removed the speed work from it. The wind was bringing ALL the intensity I needed that day and my miles counted for more! ✅ Start with something “easy”. Maybe that’s a day it’s drizzling or 7-10 mph winds vs tornado winds and a monsoon lol. Just like you build yourself up to take on higher intensity workouts, do the same with this. Your confidence in tougher (but safe) conditions will grow.🪁 Run date: 11/20 Workout: 18 windy miles 🥶🌬️ #whatrunsyou #runningcoach #marathontraining #beginnerrunner #learntorun #becauseyoucan #distancerunning #motherrunner #runninginspiration #runningmotivation #runningtips #mindset #runningtips
