We almost didn’t go, but I’m so glad we did! 🏕️ The minute we pulled into our campsite I felt a weight lifted, a freedom. And within the hour my family was entertained and felt connected. Every clip you see in this video was captured in the 48 hour period we had to go play. We camped, biked, paddle boarded, hiked, snuggled, climbed rocks, read books, played with mud, painted our toenails, and of course, we “s’mored.” Shockingly though, we never felt rushed. I believe being outside slows time down, or expands it perhaps. When you remove all the distractions of being “busy” there is more time to just be. It’s why when I’m doubting I have the energy to get the family out the door, I think, “just go!” And my favorite part about this weekend adventure? It was all on public lands. We camped at a state campground, had water time at a state beach 5 mins from our campsite, and explored the Bitterroot National Forest on a hike on our drive home. Check out my stories today, I not only reveal the team name Emi hinted at in the video, I also share about what we look for when choosing a weekend getaway on public lands, and what gear we bring. Gear you can find @publiclandsshop , who I’m proud to collaborate with- every $1 you spend 1% goes to the 1% for the Planet, a foundation helping protect these public space that fuel our adventures. #PublicLandsPartner, #PublicLandsForAll #campingwithkids #familyadventure #outdoorfamily #raisethemoutside
