You can go to Oaxaca and book a cooking class like everyone else or you can go outdoor rock climbing. I chose the latter. 😉 No hate on the cooking classes, I’m sure they’re lovely. In all seriousness though, this was nowhere on my radar for Mexico until a week ago. I was researching bouldering gyms in Oaxaca and ended up stumbling upon a climbing tour hosted by a local here. I reached out to him, picked a date, and invited a friend - all without fully considering the fact that I’m extremely scared of heights. Like, ‘has panic attacks’ scared haha. I love new experiences though and I’m trying really hard not to be someone who lets their fears define them. I still have no intention of ever skydiving or bungee jumping but this feels like a step in the right direction. In terms of the tour itself, it was incredible! Manuel, our guide, helped us climb 6 different routes. He coached us when we got stuck and most importantly - he didn’t let me quit when I really REALLY wanted to. It was such a cool experience and I can’t wait to try it again someday. The tour is through @saladeescaladayah_gul (on IG) if you want to book it! Thank you, Manuel, and thank you, Tiana, for climbing with me 🧗♀️ #oaxacacity #oaxacamexico #oaxacatravel #visitoaxaca #traveloaxaca #rockclimber #rockclimbingwomen #rockclimbinggirls #rockclimbinglife #adventuretravel #solofemaletravel #solofemaletraveler #visitmexico #mexicotravel #travelmexico #mexicotrip #backpackingmexico #adventuretravels
