Amazonian stream side paludarium build for some very special little lizards! These are South American stream lizards (Potamites) which look so crocodilian in such a small package! To fit in with the South American critters theme, from the same range are some neon tetras and cory cats. Not only is there solid land for the lizards with hiding areas and cover, but more than half the waters surface has plant life they can find shelter in and hunt in. These little lizards prey on terrestrial insects and also aquatic inverts. Big thanks to @Zoo Med Laboratories, Inc. for making these great paludariums and also making the supporting product and gadgets to make a build like this possible. From the land platform, filter, lighting, fogger, and control center, that’s about all the gizmos needed to maintain a build like this long term. The stream lizard pair in this habitat are full grown and will make use of both the land and water. They will also use the higher branches to some extent (as seen) but I’m thinking to possibly add a more arboreal species to accompany in this enclosure as it progresses. Whether that’s a lizard or frog I am not sure yet (maybe even a snake?). I like how this build turned out and the simplicity of it without background truly feels like a direct slice of this little micro habitat these lizards call home. #HerpTime #reptile #lizard #terrarium #vivarium #paludarium #plantedtank #aquascape #satisfying #asmr
