HOW I TURNED INSECURITY INTO CONFIDENCE ↓ I used to be extremely insecure about my shoulders, I felt like they were too broad and made me look “manly”. I would always try to hide them by avoiding certain styles of tank tops and shirts because I thought that they were something to be ashamed of. I didn’t start training upper body until a year into my fitness journey because the thought of purposely growing my upper body terrified me. It’s funny because now my shoulders are my absolute favorite part of my physique and I am actively working on growing them! It goes to show how toxic today’s beauty standards can be and how easily they can warp our perceptions of how women should look. There is something so empowering about not only looking strong but feeling strong as well. I never want to feel as though i need to make myself to look smaller or weaker again to fit in, strength is beautiful and something to be celebrated!!
