The perfect ending to Chicago Marathon… I will never be upset with myself for missing a time goal. This race and this city are too beautiful to be upset at anything! It was the perfect day and I got the opportunity to be here. That’s all I could ask for. We still ran a friggin marathon!!! Getting to the start like healthy is always the goal, but finishing healthy is also always a focus. The moment I know I had to drop I was very okay with it because I got to drop back and experience more of the course. I also knew I could start recovering in preparation for marine corps marathon and NYC marathon. There are still plenty of miles to be had. The icing on the cake was also being able to check my phone and see that Mollie was on pace for her huge goal of 3:15. I walked a few miles and timed it just right to get to do the last 1.5 miles with her and watch her crush her goal. I love seeing her and everyone else succeed and really hard things like marathons. I will definitely be back at this course. It’s too fun to miss out on. Huge thanks to everyone who cheered and got video clips! @choiboy15 @vickyconroy @onthemovewithmad and so many more. The crowds were epic.
