The rice! Just in time for the holidays! 3 c rice (par boiled long grain) 1 lb coarse ground beef 1/2 stick butter or ghee 1 tbsp Lebanese 7 spice or allspice or rice blend from @thamarat_5 1 tsp pepper 1 tbsp vegeta 2 c drippings 4 c water (3-4 c if you don’t have drippings) Salt for taste Roasted almonds, peanut nut, and golden raisins To begin, start by soaking your rice for 15 minutes. Use parboiled long grain rice to ensure a fluffy, non-sticky texture. Once the rice has doubled in size, wash it with hot water until the water runs clear. In a large pot, heat ghee and cook the ground beef with herbs until fully cooked. Then, add the washed rice and mix thoroughly. Add liquid and taste to ensure a well-balanced flavor. Adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, and seasoning salt if necessary. Bring the rice to a boil, then reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes on medium-low heat. After simmering, turn off the heat and let the rice sit for approximately 10 minutes before serving. This dish is perfect for the holidays or can be enjoyed with yogurt and salad on any day.
