We found this mysterious plant in the Canadian Rockies. We connected it to our PlantWave and took in the otherworldly sounds. PlantWave translates real-time signals of plants into sound. It works by measuring slight electrical changes in plants, graphing them as a wave, translating them into pitch and routing those pitch messages to instruments we design for plants to play. In this video, we’re experimenting with white noise with a low pass filter modulated by the plant. The result is an otherworldly, almost eerie sound that we couldn’t have imagined ourselves.
