Part 6 of cleaning my grandpas walls this summer! I tackled a really long dividing wall today thats in the same room as the fireplace. Thank you all for the different suggestions! The pump sprayer is a GAME CHANGER! I made an entire gallon of my “magic mix” which is just La’s Awesome Degreaser + Water. Using the sprayer cut down a ton of cleaning time not having to go up and down the ladder! For the polish, i took many of your recomendations and stopped using the furniture polish. Today I tried Old English and it did beautiful! I applied using a brand new o-cedar mop head which I designating for polish only. Part 21 - Cleaning Grandpas House! Starting on some large windows today, I went in with degreaser then scraped with vinegar before applying foaming glass cleaner to both the inside & outside. Theres a pretty big difference, but tbh I think we can do better. What do you use for window cleaning & what should I try on some of the other panes? Part 7-ish of cleaning grandpas house. Today I took a break from panel cleaning to tackle the kitchen handle pulls. I got a lot of suggestions on what to try, so I went with boiling them in vinegar/water to remove gunk and then going in with brasso afterwards. The brasso did great! Turns out they are a gold color, not dark brass! Some of the VERY worn ones are completely rubbed away, but still look much better. You think we should use them or just replace? Also, let me know which of the paint samples you liked best for the walls!
