Read below First of all, even just completing a 10km is an incredible achievement! For a while I felt like I had plateaued and I really struggled to increase my speed no matter what I did. So here's a few things l've done recently that have helped me to lose them minutes! 1. Varied runs: There's no doubt that practice makes perfect and the more you do the better you'll be. But don't try and PB on every run that you do - you need to do a variety of runs such as intervals, tempo, and long runs. 2. Basic weight training: This will help to increase the power of your muscles and also reduce the risk of injury 3. Food fuelling your body with the right nutrients prior to exercise: This will give you the energy and strength you need to perform better. 4. Shoes: Save your knees, ankles and shins!!
