We left off in Venice, where our tour director organized a group rate for gondolas on the Venice canals. We each paid €25 to have between 3-4 people on the boats. Our next tour director optional was the Vineyard near Venice called Vignaluna. It was an awesome wine tasting experience, six full glasses of wine to taste, and tapas throughout the night. They offered shipping 6 packs home for about $150 per pack. We went to Florence for a day and weren’t staying nearby so it was important to make the most of the day. We had a guided tour around the city which was included but afterwards plenty of free time to checkout the sights. The Academia Gallery is a popular place to go to see the famous David statue, that cost was around $29-$38, additionally, people go up the Florence duomo which costs ~$45. Then we went to Rome where our Tour Director organized a pub crawl for €15, we had included one drink per stop plus discounted drinks throughout the night. EF used to include a tour inside the Colosseum prior to 2020 but no longer do, so the cost to get a tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum would cost around $38. Then in Athens, our Tour Director organized a food tour for €30. We went to a bakery, got Greek tapas, gyros, Greek donuts, and finally a cappuccino freddo. The Acropolis is included in the guided tour of Athens so no need to purchase a ticket there. In Santorini, our Tour Director organized a Santorini Volcano cruise with another EF group that was in Santorini at the time. The cost was €50. You can also rent ATVs here for anywhere between $40-$70 per 24 hours. Your hotel concierge can help book those for you. My total dollar amount spent in Europe on credit card was about $2500 including all food, drinks, extras, my side trip that I took to Meteora in Greece, a flight I took to catch back up with the group to Santorini and a hotel for a night in Athens the same day of my side trip.
