The tea they used is imported straight from Taiwan, so it’s super authentic. The teas are freshly brewed, but what they’re really known for is their hand made tea jellies. There’s something super fun just about the visual of these, which is why I had to go. They’re just so jiggly, lol. They have matcha, black sesame, thai, and almond, which was my absolute favorite. They told me that their almond flavor in Taiwan is different than our almond flavor here, and that’s true. - it’s more floral and fragrant. You can control the sweetness of your drink - I always do 0 sugar, so I like that the option is there. They have tea slushies, lattes, your classic milk tea - it’s all there. @brustersfullertonca is having their Grand Opening April 19th-21st! 550 N State College Blvd Fullerton, CA During the grand opening, they’ll have $4 waffle and $3 small cake cones or cups. I already knew this ice cream was awesome, but I did NOT know that you could make a scoop of 4, lol. I asked them to go for 5 and it was in tact until it kind of melted on me, but wow, it was wild. They also have a super loaded sundae, and you can get any ice cream you want made into an ice cream cookie sandwich. I also learned that this ice cream is made the “old-fashioned” way, where the ingredients are slow kettle processed, creating their signature flavor. They have SO many flavors to choose from, like Cotton Candy Explosion, Graham Central Station, Mudslide, Mixed Berry Cheesecake…the list goes on. @palenquekitchen has a super beautiful atmosphere, and the cutest margarita tower. 1749 Newport Blvd, Costa Mesa, CA 92627 (also a Riverside location) I’ve driven by Palenque quite a few times, but never been inside. Didn’t realize what I was missing - the interior is gorgeous. It’s all about that margarita tower, really. It’s so cute, and we literally had people coming from across the restaurant to ask us what it is. They do brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 11 to 2:30, and we tried a bunch of the items. The breakfast burrito was definitely a top item - it was cheesy and flavorful and they give you a ton of salsa. I also loved the enchiladas mineras, which was stacked with melty cheese, guajillo sauce, potatoes, carrots, escabeche (pickled veg), cotijia cheese, and Mexican cream. They have a dedicated parking lot, otherwise the parking in front gets a little tight. Apparently they do a tequila pairing dinner, which also sounds like a fun way to spend an evening. They load it with chilaquiles then all your molcajete favorites (carne asada, chicharron, cheese, nopal, chorizo). Their guava empanadas were the star for me. Presentation is 10/10 and they’re stuffed with delicious guava filling. I was also pretty stunned by the jamaica taquitos. @timelessvintageorange is an underground thrift and vintage resale store that recently expanded, so I went to check it out again. 110 1/2 S Glassell St, Orange, CA 92866 I am walking distance to here, so when I saw they expanded again, I thought I’d check it out. It was surprisingly large before for being completely underground, but now they’ve added a back room, and even more items. They’re also always getting items in, so there’s something new to look at when you go. They’re not even done yet, either - there’s going to be more space and more merchandise added in the near future. There’s a BUNCH of Carhartt stuff, and a lot of it is in pretty perfect condition. There’s some cool finds hiding on these shelves. They mostly have men’s items, which I actually think is kind of nice for the men - mostly it’s all women’s stuff.
