Markham carjacking suspects chased through parking lot in video of dramatic police takedown Police have released video footage of a dramatic takedown of a group of teens wanted in connection with an attempted carjacking in Markham earlier this month. On Friday, York Regional Police said the vehicle used in the carjacking has been connected to other armed carjackings in the Greater Toronto Area and investigators are releasing video surveillance footage of the suspects in an effort to find others who may be “linked to this criminal network.” The attempted carjacking occurred at around 2 a.m. on April 6 in a parking lot in the area of Yonge Street and Glen Cameron Road. Toronto Raptors player Jontay Porter banned from NBA The NBA has banned Jontay Porter for life games after completing an investigation into gambling allegations against the former Toronto Raptors' two-way player. A league investigation found that Porter violated league rules by disclosing confidential information to sports bettors, limiting his own participation in one or more games for betting purposes, and betting on NBA games. Caught on camera: Suspect loads stolen gold shipment Nine suspects wanted in connection with the gold heist at Pearson International Airport last year have now been identified by investigators, Peel Regional Police say. At a news conference Wednesday on the one-year anniversary of the heist, police announced that two of the suspects were employed with Air Canada at the time of the heist.
