Even after 9 years of regular gym use and 2 years as a personal trainer, going to a new gym still hits my social anxiety hard. I’m an introvert and I like familiar places and familiar faces. No matter how long or short youve been going to a gym, your social anxiety/gym anxiety is valid and seen. Take it one step at a time (quite literally begining with stepping out of your car). My best tips are to play a familiar pump-up song as you drive to the gym, and do a workout routine you’re familiar with.
