Last week we spent a night in Chioggia. I was looking for a place to break the drive from Croatia to Italy and I figured it's the perfect opportunity to visit Chioggia. It's such an interesting town, some areas look very much like Venice, but the vibe is very different. Much less touristy, and more local! . The food was so delicious, the prices very low compared to Venice or Tuscany or any of the more tourist-oriented places. The aperitivo scene was so much fun, lots of locals out and about. Everyone was so nice! We truly loved it. . But you must know that it's very small, the historic center build on the canals. . There is also a long sand beach and a whole hotel/beach area with lots of playgrounds and looks like a fun place for the Summer. (It looked like they were just opening) . They offer boat tours in the lagoon and obviously is easy to reach Venice. . I would totally like to stay there a bit longer in the future! Would you stay in Chioggia instead of Venice? . #alidalifetravel #offthebeatenpath #hiddengemsitaly #chioggia #veniceitaly
