I only know what I know, and only I know what it’s like to have loved this man for 14 years but cared about him for longer and only I know what it’s like to wake up beside him and wish I’d known him forever and only I know what it felt like when he drunkenly asked me, “Do you think we’ll last forever?” that night in his bed after only a month, but then a month turned into years and years turned into a life sharing a last name and sometimes clothes and a family and pretty much every meal together.
