To protect ourselves from our own wounds of judgment we may overcompensate and try to be perfect to avoid further judgment. However this is never a true solution, because a judgmental person will judge no matter what. Healing our wound is realizing that we were judged not because of anything actually wrong with us, but because whoever judged us was projecting their own inner judgments onto us! All judgment is impersonal and about the one casting the judgment. Judgment is actually a complete mirror into the person’s psyche of what they think and worry about in themselves. Unless we heal from this wound we will continue to perpetuate this cycle of judgment and push those we love away and most importantly continue to harm our own self-esteem and steal our peace. It is time to let it go.
