I'm so grateful we don't live in extreme cold temps, but less than an hour old and falling into cold water in a creek was rough on this newborn calf. Im so proud of how he recovered but we tried to warm him and dry him in the field but the wind was too cold and he was shaking and had labored breathing. We tubed him some colostrum and energy drink and took him in around 9 pm to dry him completely and get him out of the wind. First light this morning his good mama was right where she left him and took him right back! He just needed a little warmth!
