I personally don't staying at a campground or even a Airbnb (stayed at both before) that's 25-30 minutes away from the entrance. 1. I like to wind down at the end of the day and find it hard to do around too many folks 2. I love exploring the town. I love shopping local, sorta like my tax I pay when visiting a place 3. Visit the coolest lighthouse in California! Originally placed to detect fogs. There's just so much history here! Right before you get to San Francisco if you're going south. Marin Headlands also offers tons of different hikes so you can make a day out of it. ⚠️It can get busy!⚠️ I recommend going on a holiday. I went on Memorials Day 3 years ago and it wasn't too crazy or a long wait time. Plan accordingly, as the parking lot fills fast too!
