Running is the new black. So I ran everyday for 30 days in attempt to build a running habit🏃🏻♀️, did it work? YES, it did. But WHY? And HOW? ✨ Consistency is KEY ✨ This challenge forced me to show up everyday even when I dread it 😩🥱 There are days when motivation is low, but pushing through those times and getting things done feels even more rewarding. 🏃🏻♀️ Surprisingly, the shitty running sessions still improved my next runs. I guess the small wins do add up. 💪🏼 ✨The more you do it, the less you fear it ✨ I used to be intimidated by the thought of running in a crowd, worried I can’t keep up. Two weeks in, I gained the confidence to join a run club. 🤪 Safe to say it was an amazing experience and would totally do it again. ✨Habits have variations, find what’s enjoyable to you✨ You could be building the same habit as someone else, and the process may look different - and that’s okay! 🙌🏼 Some days I love listening to podcasts, and some days I just want to blast music and clear my head during my runs 🤷🏻♀️ I’ve seen some people run without headphones (imo are psychopaths?!) but if that works then you do you ~ ✨Continual rewards to keep habits in check✨ The biggest reward 🎁 of all has to be the post-run endorphins🤪 , but this doesn’t apply to all habits. Having rewards helped a a TON. A coffee after run/ new running gear/ change in running scenery gave me that extra boost of motivation & kept me going. It’s just human nature! 💝 Just like a lot of you out there, my overarching goal is to improve my fitness level - but come on, goals are useless without achievable systems in place to work towards it. Goals AND habits go hand-in-hand and are both equally important. Happy habit building! 🥰 #runningmotivation #30daychallenge #habitbuilding #goodhabits #fitnessmotivation #healthandwellness #mindovermatter
