I’m obsessed with Diesel. He has just come into our home and added his own bit of magic we didn’t know was even missing! As someone who has both purebreds and more Mexican street cat rescues then I can count, I have to say that the street cat rescues are extra special. They are SO GRATEFUL and they let you know it! Diesel has officially been adopted and added to the Balam Family with what seems like full acceptance from all the others. We didn’t even have to do formal introductions with Diesel. He just moved in. We could not be happier and my heart is so full of love for him, and for all the deserving cats we rescue at the @Balam Foundation Please follow our kind work there if you aren’t yet. People have been saying that I stole our most recent rescue Diesel. Nothing could be further from the truth. I need you to understand that I am an animal rescuer working in Mexico, a developing country and my adopted country of choice. This means that there are almost no resources for animals here, and why the @Balam Foundation is so important. Stray animals are literally everywhere and people don’t think twice about dumping them. Extreme poverty makes people do extreme things. Diesel was just one of the many, who was dumped at an isolated gas station on the side of the highway. The only sane reaction to me rescuing him is one of thanks and joy. Not criticism. I’m a full time rescuer and I know a dumped animal when I see one. Diesel is a very lucky boy to have been found by us and he’s sitting on my lap as I type. We are seeing how he does with our crew and I will update when I can. But first, I wanted to give you some context about what we are up against, for the few who bother to read.
