22 years ago we bought our first forklift. This has saved us tons (literally)of physical labor. Weight adds up and deck building is brutal. All of the materials are heavy and usually have to be moved by hand. Here in the PNW the treated wood we use is "pressure treated." This process uses water to infuse the wood with preservatives, resulting in heavy lumber. The treatment doesn't penetrate uniformly or all the way into the wood either. The #PWTTreated LVL 2x8 10' in this video weighs 19.4 lbs less per stick, than the pressure treated wood we normally use. Put another way, if I lift a pressure treated 2x8 10', I'm lifting 68.7% more weight each time. We don't have to cull and sort. My 46-year old back and elbows are telling me pick PWT Treated. I personally went to the lumberyard and weighed the wood there and compared it to the Treated LVL. #ad #PWT #PWTpros #construction #deckconstruction #builder #build
