Chemically Injected Watermelons Erythrosine is banned in Australia, New Zealand and European Union. It is unfortunately found in a tremendous amount of our Foods including breakfast cereals, soft drinks and juices, some dairy products, frozen foods and desserts that may want a red color to them. Although it can be found in watermelon it is much less common for that to occur in the United States as the US does have food laws in place preventing the adulteration of watermelon. It is possible for food fraud to occur so it's always a good idea to buy organic watermelon to ensure you're getting excellent quality. Erythrosine is also known as red dye number 3 and, in my opinion, should be completely banned from the United States, and it should not be permitted to be added to any foods.
