Is AI going to automate data analyst jobs into oblivion? Are data analysts all going to be chatgpt bots? Here's why that will never happen for data analytics, and why it is a serious threat for other jobs like data entry. Data analysts absolutely will (and do!) use AI like ChatGPT as a tool on the job, just like we use other tools like SQL software and data visualization software. AI helps us debug our SQL queries faster and test out ideas. But it can't complete an entire project from start to finish - it just helps us do projects a little faster. Why? Because AI doesn't attend our meetings, understand the millieu of society or the goals of the business, the implications of questions and answers, and most importantly it doesn't have critical thinking to integrate all those ideas along with instructions to find creative solutions. Data analysts don't answer quick simple questions - thats what calculators are for. We answer complex questions and creatively present the answers in ways non technical people can quickly understand. Communicating complex ideas to others is part of our evolutionary story as humans. Data analysts use many tools to do that, including AI. But AI doesn't have the essential critical thinking and creative capabilities that humans have to see a question from multiple points of view when there are multiple potential "right" answers. And there usually are! There's more to life than just numbers. Simple basic menial jobs are being automated. Jobs that require thought are NOT! #AI #automation #artificialintelligence #dataanalytics #chatgpt #jobs #careeradvice #saturated #dataanalyst #breakintotech #techjobs #jobsecurity #dataanalysis #careertips #sql #data
