The 13th day after the vernal equinox marks the end of Nowrooz (Iranian new year) celebrations. It’s called Sizda Bedar and it originated in ancient Zoroastrian times thousands of years ago. The vernal equinox is a rebirth of the living world, but also a reminder that another chapter in our lives has come to an end. Iranian/ Zoroastrian culture isn’t just for Iranians. It has preserved the traditions of all of our most ancient ancestors who were people of the earth. In this new year I am thankful for my ancestors and my loved ones. Happy new year. #persian #iranian #zoroastrian
