Restored footage from 1900 of an electric moving walkway being demonstrated at the Exposition Universelle of 1900 (1900 Paris Exhibition). The walkway, called Rue de l’Avenir, was a 3.5 km (2.2 miles) loop that ran along the exposition site and passed through nine stations where passengers could board. It was designed by architect Joseph Lyman Silsbee and engineer Max E. Schmidt, the same people who created the first ever moving walkway which was demonstrated at the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago. - Footage frame rate increased, upscaled and “colorized” by HistoryColored using AI technology. - Footage originally from: Vue prise d’une plate-forme mobile, I, Lumière Archives - #history #france #restored #parisexposition #historicalfootage #restored
