For most of my life I never considered myself “creative.” From a young age I took in the persona of the “achiever.” I buried my love of creating, building and entertaining, while I chased a version of success that always left me feeling empty. In March of 2020 I was forced to slow down. I was forced to clear my calendar of all these things I thought I should be doing. I was forced to examine what truly matter. This marked a major shift in my life. I gave myself permission to be still. I gave myself permission to let go of the things that were no longer serving me. I began to prioritize the things that brought me joy. I started doing small DIY projects around the house and refinishing furniture. In the process, I rediscovered the 6 year old girl who used to lay on the living room floor examining “Southern Living” floor plan books for HOURS! The girl who would rearrange the furniture every time we had guest coming to stay. The girl who loved to put on a show and entertain. I hope for you is that you start to let go of the fear and begin to lead with passion. Remember you don’t have to be perfect to start. You’ll get better with each rep 😘 #diy #diyfireplace #diyfireplacesurrond #homerenovation #hometransformation #diyprojects @hgtv @hgtvhome @hgtvmagazine @southernlivingmag @real_simple @betterhomesandgardens
