I think It would be a hit, somewhere along with the whole croiffle phenomenon. For some of my favorite hotteoks so far: If you’re in NYC, hit up @gracestreetcafe in Ktown and try their authentic, yeast fermented hotteok, served with vanilla ice cream. they’ve had it on the menu since they opened years ago and it’s been very consistently good over the years. If you’re at @H Mart , look out for the hotteok in the frozen section or the hotteok kit box in the bread mix section because those are the GOOD stuff. Wanna make it from scratch? I’ve yet to find a recipe that really hit the spot that wasn’t as laborious for my lazy butt. You know me, I’m always diligently finding ways to make cooking easy, but hotteok hasn’t been easy. This latte was inspired by the Filipino pastry called Ensaymada, and the Korean sweet potato latte. I once tried the sweet-and-savory Ensaymada with a ube swirl and a heap of cheese on top, and fell in love. So I got some ube condensed milk and purple sweet potato to whip up the nutty, hearty latte, and topped it with a dollop of cream cheese foam. Here’s the full recipe: Purple Sweet potato Latte: 1 tsp ube condensed milk, 1 cup oat milk 100g purple sweet potato 1 shot of espresso Cream cheese Foam: 1 Tbsp cream cheese 1 tsp sugar Pinch of salt ⅓ cup oat milk Blend the oat milk, ube condensed milk, and sweet potato.
