The translation of the stela of the Pharaoh Montuhotep IV at the Wadi Hammamat near the city if Thebes. The inscription describes an expedition of 10,000 soldiers to extract a block of stone from the mountain at the wadi, in order to fabricate a sarcophagus and a lid for the pharaoh’s tomb.
