We allow for U.S. agencies to charge based on race, gender, and disabilities of the child. If it was for our benefit, we wouldn't be 4.7ร more likely to be offed by our adoptive parents, we'd have more thorough background checks and education given to adoptive families, we wouldn't falsify adoptees' birth records or limit access to their medical history, we'd have more post adoption check ups and services as well as trauma training being a standard part of the process. When children are prioritized in society, less adoptions happen to begin with. And when they do happen, they don't strip the child of their rights or put a price tag on them. And they don't happen just because a mother is poor and needs help and supoort like the majority of relinquishments historically and currently. Not to mention its use historically and currently as a form of cultural erasure and cultural g-slide wouldnโt happen. Children and women deserve better than what the adoption industry currently offers. It shouldnโt be profit driven to begin with. Profit doesnโt ensure our safety, it just gives incentive to destroy families with little incentive to help them thrive. #adoption #foryou #abolishprivatizedadoption #adopteesoftiktok
