We spent the day in Toyoura, Hokkaido at the Scallop Processing Plant where we learned all about Hokkaido’s fresh scallops. We tried them raw, fried with Hokkaido bytter and even scallop tempura. We also played a game to see who could catch the most scallops in three minutes using a string and pin. I don’t know how I won since I have never fished a day before in my life. The local news station was there to record the whole thing and even interviewed me after. So embarrassing! But if you have never tried Hokkaido scallops, you’re missing out!
