Lift Heavy & Have A Plan To Fail. The bench press is an easy one to get stuck under, but it’s also easy to avoid if you have a proper plan. 1. Use spotter arms. This will allow you to lay the bar down without squashing your beautiful face. 2. Have an actual spotter. Someone you trust that can help you by pulling the bar up and taking some of the pressure off the bench if you do reach failure. 3. Don’t use clips, lay the bar down softly, and be ok rocking right to left and dropping the plates on the ground. (*dont smash your phone) 4. The route I took, which honestly would be my last choice… lay the bar below the rib cage, roll it down to your waist and sit up. You should 100% practice these with an empty bar or with 5 or 10 pound plates. If you practice, you’ll have a plan. If you don’t, you’re going to panic and be more likely to do something stupid or get injured. Practice safe sets. 😉 Lift heavy. And have a plan for failure. ✌🏼-Ben #benchpress #gymfail #fail #gym
