can a dog’s history play a factor in its behavior? YES! but IMO we do a disservice to the dog by bridging its known or unknown past to a factual or implied history of emotion. many behavior issues or inclinations are simply the product of genetics. when placing or adopting a dog, i think it’s best to look at the dog in front of you and state it as it is without any story that could affect its success in a home. the stories often give people false hope that enough love will “fix” a dog, which is not a fair expectation to set with adopters. #adoptorshopresonsibly #dogrescue #adoptorshop #adopted #rescuedog #adopteddog #animalshelter
