Understandably many men recoil at women being dependent on their resources. Women have suffered too in their dependence, by being rendered slaves or playthings. Mill says men and women should not be dependent on one another (since they are equals) unless they freely choose to be so. And then they should be able to revoke that dependency at any time. In other words, a man can freely choose to be dependent on a woman and vice versa, but that should be chosen anew at every moment, and they shouldn’t be trapped in that if they ever want to change. ##philosophy##feminism##marriage##divorce##Kegelbell
