𝑷𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒐 𝑴𝒂𝒏 was a song Billy Joel wrote about his time playing a Los Angeles piano bar called The Executive Room. Unable to use his better known name, he perfomed under the pseudonym 'Bill Martin'. All of the characters depicted in the song were based on real people he met. Billy was in LA hiding out from his New York-based record label who had stuffed up the release of his debut album, Cold Spring Harbor. A production error with the vinyl made the songs play too fast and made Billy sound like a chipmonk! Unfortunately neither the piano bar or the building on Wilshire Boulevard in which it was located exists today, it was knocked down to make way for a shopping mall. #pianoman #billyjoel #piano #cover
