I never imagined my birthing story to go like this… After 20 hours of labor and finally getting to 10 cm dilated we started to push. I pushed for 3 hours with no progress. Hux just could make it down and around my pelvic bone and something felt wrong. We then got taken to the OR for an emergency c-section as it turned out Hux was sunny side up and lodged into my pelvis. They had to push and pull to get her out but thankfully she came out completely healthy and not in distress. They took Hux right away and had her leave with my husband to the nursery — which I thought was odd since we didn’t get skin to skin time. It turns out my uterine artery was knicked and I was losing blood quickly. At this point, they gave me a full dose of medicine to get me to sleep. I woke up to them telling me I had lost quite a bit of blood and the ICU was going to monitor me. My vitals started to tank as they were working on getting me a blood transfusion. After two full bags of blood, I finally came around and started to feel better. I was so pumped with blood and fluids that I barely recognize myself in these photos. The hardest thing about all of this was not being able to hold or take care of my baby. It something you dream about and to this day I can’t remember holding her for the first time. After everything, I am grateful that we are both alive and completely healthy. I know it will take a while to heal from this experience but after looking at my daughter today — I know it was worth every drop of pain and I know I’d do it all over again. ❤️ #birthingstory #daughter #birthtrauma #babygirl #newborn #newbornbaby #csectiondelivery #csection
