Building A log Cabin in the Woods Part 3. Today we fell 2 addition trees bringing us to a total of 12 logs for the cabin. We collected enough logs (for now) so I decided we should start on the foundation. Comment any ideas you have for it! Inorder to start the foundation we need to move them out of the way. I decided to build a nice log rack so we can store them well and keep them off the ground. Not again! Our Axe handle broke! Today we rehandle and axe for the second time. We saw off the old handle, push out the piece of wood, then insert the nee handle. This handle is a maul handle and is not meant for felling axes but this is all we had. I rush putting this handle together and it puts out some interesting results! Our Boots have busted so we end up getting brand new hobnail boots! I needed a size larger so that why I purchased new ones instead of resoleling. I used Mink oil which is an animal fat inorder to seal up the boots and prevent them from absorbing water. Today when we were felling trees, I attempt to climb one and ended up ripping my trousers through the middle. Ill show you how I patch them up with spare canvas I have. After sewing such a large patch of material, we have extended range of the pants.
